This dataset is collected using a 3 metre tall, 1 metre in diameter meteorological/oceanographic buoy from Xeos Technologies Inc., of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The buoy is deployed in St. Mary's Bay, Nova Scotia. It measures wave data (Maximum Wave Height, Significant Wave Height, Peak Wave Period, Mean Wave Direction, and Mean Wave Spread) using a Brizo wave sensor manufactured by Xeos, sea temperature using a T Node sensor, and meteorological data (Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Air Pressure, Humidity, Air Temperature, Rain Intensity, and Hail Intensity) using Vaisala sensors. The data is streamed to CIOOS every 20 minutes. The data will be used to support science-based decision making and advancement of Nova Scotia's coastal resources.
